Last night, I had a dream. In the dream, I'm a small city guy with an ambition of becoming a filmmaker who also longs for his talents to be recognised by his family and the people around him. One day suddenly, i discovered that I can fly and people around me wouldn't believe it. Later sometime, I was friends with one of the superstars and tried to be pleasing and submissive to get into his good graces. But, without any logic the superstar is not the superstar, he is in fact a friend of mine who also wants to become a filmmaker and already got an opportunity to direct a film, and I was working for his film as an assistant director. The film got shelved due to some unknown reasons. My friend slowly goes into depression no matter how much I try to make him normal. Meanwhile, i also try to be friends with the superstar and talk like my friend was the reason for the cancellation of the film to get. Then again, without any logic my friend who wants to become a filmmaker is not a filmmaker at all, he went into depression because of his love failure. At this point all the people in the dream start to become zombies. The disease spreads from one person to another very easily. All the people were turning into monsters including my brother, whom I hate sometimes for not not being supportive to me in real life also. Remember, earlier I told you that I can fly. Using my flying skill I have escaped many times and slowly started to fight the zombies and also help some people along the way. I fought so many battles and somehow, some intelligent zombie people, who can control other zombies and animals started chasing me. I killed some of the monsters they sent after me and started living without much attention. At one point, people started offering me food to feed myself. One time, i tried to have sex with a lady whom I had saved earlier and gave shelter. She was also cooperative, but something happened at the time of intercourse. Later sometime, I left the city and while I was flying away, i found a normal village without any zombies. There was something strange about the people who live in that village. It's almost dusk, I was hovering above the village. I have noticed that the people are getting back to their homes so early after seeing a creature like a large eagle wake up in a hill. The creature woke up, screamed like an eagle and then started flying. That's it. I woke up after that. Please note that I'm an aspiring filmmaker in real life also.
Your dream is rich with imagery and symbolism that reflects your current feelings, aspirations, and anxieties regarding your journey as a filmmaker and relationship dynamics. Here's a breakdown of some of the key elements:
Ambition and Recognition: Your desire to become a filmmaker and gain recognition from family and society is central to the dream. This ambition is echoed in both your ability to fly—representing freedom, creativity, and transcendence—and the way you perceive yourself as a small city guy navigating a big dream.
The Flying Ability: Flying often symbolizes liberation and the realization of one's potential. Your ability to fly suggests that you have untapped potential and creativity, but it also highlights your struggle with validation and the need for others to recognize and believe in your talents. The disbelief of those around you may reflect feelings of inadequacy or external skepticism regarding your aspirations.
The Superstar and Friendship Dynamics: The transition from idolizing a superstar to working alongside a friend who also aspires to be a filmmaker reflects your internal struggle with comparison and competition. Your desire to please the superstar might signal a yearning for acceptance and validation, while your friend’s journey into depression could symbolize your fears of failure and the pressure of expectations.
Zombies as a Metaphor: The transformation of people into zombies underscores feelings of isolation, fear of losing those around you to apathy, or a lack of support. It may also represent societal pressures that can drain creative energy and passion, reflecting your concerns about relationships with family and peers who may not fully understand your ambitions.
Battling Zombies: Your fight against the zombies indicates your determination to confront and overcome obstacles in your life. The struggle can signify your resilience in dealing with self-doubt, external criticism, and the need to protect your creative spirit from being consumed by negativity.
The Offer of Food and Intimacy: This part of the dream can represent deeper human connections and the desire for support and nourishment, not just physically but emotionally as well. The unsuccessful attempt at intimacy may reflect deeper anxieties about vulnerability and connection, possibly linked to your fears of being misunderstood or unsupported in your artistic journey.
The Village and the Eagle: As you escape to the village, it symbolizes a longing for peace and acceptance—a place free from the chaos and demands of your current life. The eagle represents freedom and awakening, suggesting that as you soar above your challenges, you may find clarity and a sense of belonging in your creative pursuits.
In summary, this dream encapsulates your struggles and aspirations as an aspiring filmmaker. It reflects the complexities of your relationships, your yearning for acknowledgment, and your fight against discouragement—all while navigating the tensions between ambition and the social constructs around you. It may be beneficial for you to explore these feelings further in your waking life, perhaps through your creative work, as a means of processing your experiences and finding your voice.
